July 2006 - April 2012While funded through and sponsored by Greater Europe Mission in Ireland, I gave the majority of my time and energies to the establishment of Serve the City Ireland. Serve the City Ireland is a grassroots community development and volunteer organization working in partnership with the Serve the City International movement. Serve the City's aim in Ireland is to mobilize volunteers to serve the needs of marginalized and vulnerable citizens in meaningful ways that speak hope and strength into Irish urban contexts. Personal contribution to Serve the City Ireland included the following: o Research, establishment, and maintenance of web resources (incl. copywriting and creative direction of the flagship website) o Initiating of new strategic partnerships with nonprofit organizations and government bodies(eg., Habitat for Humanity, Volunteer Centres Ireland, ALONE, Urban Soul, Health Service Executive, Dublin City Council, etc.) o Coordination of community service projects o Volunteer management and communication o Participation on the executive leadership team o Leadership of area project coordinators for a youth initiative called Urban Soul during the summers of 2008-2011 (www.UrbanSoul.eu), resulting in the creation of about 60 total community service projects for over 500 young people
